Police say they investigated reports of burglaries in New Castle on Annandale Drive and Crossways on Monday, Sept. 23 around 2 p.m.

During the first incident, New Castle Police say the suspect entered through an open window after removing the screen. The suspect allegedly gained entry into the second home through an unsecured basement sliding door.

Police say they also received two reports of a suspicious person on Orchard Ridge Road and Taylor Road stating that an unknown suspect knocked on the door and requested to speak with someone who did not live at the home.

After speaking with the resident, the suspect walked away, according to police.

In all of the reports, police say the suspect was described as a black male in his 30s with a slender build and some facial hair. He is approximately six feet tall and was wearing all black, according to police.  The man also wore a black baseball cap with a four-word obscenity written on it in white and is believed to be driving a dark sedan, possibly an AUDI, police say.

Anyone with information about these incidents or others that may be similar is urged to contact the New Castle Police Department at (914) 238-4422, submit an anonymous tip online at https://local.nixle.com/tip/new-castle-police-department/ or text 888-777 and start the message with TIPNC911.

Police also remind residents to lock and secure all doors and windows on their homes, apartments and vehicles and to keep an outdoor light or motion sensor on during overnight hours.
